ADEA AADSAS
The Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (ADEA AADSAS) is a centralized application service that simplifies the application process by providing one standard dental school application for ADEA AADSAS-participating dental schools. Individuals applying through ADEA AADSAS complete one application which is sent to all dental schools designated by the applicant. Please be aware that ADEA AADSAS verifications occur in chronological order and on average taketwo weeksto complete.
Deadline November 1st– Applicants must submit all of the following materials to the UF College of Dentistry Office of Admissions by November 1st:
- VerifiedADEA AADSAS Application as specified byADEA guidelines
- DAT Scores
- At least 3 Letters of Evaluation or one committee letter
Applicants who submit these materials after November 1st, will be considered on a space-available basis.
Eligibility
An application will only be reviewed if the applicant is a United States citizen or United States permanent resident (green card holder) at the time of submission.
State Residency
Preference is given to residents of the state of Florida. Approximately 10% of our entering class is comprised of out-of-state students.
For application review purposes, we must follow the state of legal residency listed on the ADEA AADSAS application. However, theUniversity of Florida Office of Admissionsdetermines state residency for tuition purposes without any consideration for what an applicant lists on the ADEA AADSAS application. Prerequisite Courses
Applicants can apply before completing all prerequisite courses, but all prerequisite courses must be completed prior to matriculation with a letter grade of C or better from a regionally-accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada. No pass/fail credits are allowed*.

- AP/IB credit is accepted if an undergraduate institution counted the AP/IB credit toward a degree and it is listed on official undergraduate transcripts as course-specific credit.
- For coursework completed in 2020, pass/fail grades will be considered if your school did not provide an option to receive a letter grade. Please locate your school’s webpage that outlines the policy details and save that link.
Target Date June 1st– For the 2022-2023 admissions cycle, we strongly encourage all applicants to complete their prerequisite courses by June 1, 2023. Completion of prerequisite courses is an important factor when extending offers of admission to candidates on the waitlist.
To simulate the dental school experience, taking in-person prerequisite courses (when available) is strongly recommended.

Dental Admission Test
Applications will not be considered beforeDATscores are submitted. A minimum score of 15 in all sections is required from a single test date. When more than one DAT score is reported, the most recent set of scores is considered. Canadian DAT scores do not satisfy our admissions requirements. DAT scores must be received by our office no later thanNovember 1st.
To meet the November 1st deadline applicants must have theADA sendofficial DAT scores to ADEA AADSAS. While waiting on the ADA, applicants can upload unofficial DAT score reports to ADEA AADSAS.

GPA

Degree
Accepted students are required to have earned a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from a regionally-accredited college or university in the United States or Canada prior to matriculation in August. Additionally, accepted students are required to complete any degree program (bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, or other professional degree programs) in which they are currently enrolled prior to matriculation.
Letters of Evaluation
Three individual letters or one committee letter are required.(Letter types defined by ADEA). We do not require letters to be written by specific professors or professionals. Letter writers should submit letters via ADEA AADSAS. UF College of Dentistry reserves the right to verify letters of evaluation for authenticity.
Supplemental Application
After a holistic review of the ADEA AADSAS application, some applicants will be invited by email to complete the UF College of Dentistry supplemental application which includes a $30 fee. Not every applicant will be invited to complete a supplemental application. Please note that the information provided on the supplemental application will be used to determine the applicant’sinitial residency classificationfor tuition purposes.
Interviews
Select candidates will be invited to interview with the admissions committee via live video. Interview invitations will be sent via email. An interview is required to be eligible for admission
Offers of Admission
The earliest an applicant will be notified of an offer of admission is December 15th. Applicants will have 30 days to respond if accepted on or after December 15th. If accepted on or after February 1st, applicants will have 15 days to respond.
